- For this weapon as it appears in Max Payne and Max Payne 2, see Sawed-Off Shotgun.
- "The Sawn-Off shotgun is extremely powerful when used as a close-range weapon-as it's intended to be used. The damage is only matched by the M500, sniper rifles, and the RPG. Holster the weapon when fighting mid to long range."
- ―Social Club description
The Sawn Off is a shotgun in Max Payne 3.
Overview[]
Compared to its counterpart in the previous games, the Sawn Off is a much rarer weapon, only appearing in Chapter 7. It is slightly more accurate and does a bit more damage than its predecessors, and can defeat enemies at longer distances with headshots. As always, Max wields the gun single-handed, but it can now be dual-wielded, either with another Sawn Off or any other one-handed weapon.
When all golden parts for the weapon are collected, the buckshot rounds will be replaced with shotgun slugs, making it slightly more effective at long range.
