"Long Range Accuracy"
Designed during 1994 the SAF .40 is a submachine gun produced in Chile by FAMAE or Fábricas y Maestranzas del Ejército a Chilean government small arms factory.

The rifle is used by the chilean armed forces and police to replace, in part the G-3 battle rifle.

The SAF.40 is a blowback-operated select-fire gun, firing from a closed bolt. In general the design is a shortened Swiss manufactuered SIG 540 rifle which was produced license in Chile duringthe1980s. The SIG 540s rotating bolt has been replaced with a simple blowback mechanism for utilization in the SAF .40

The .40 S&W magazines are steel and can hold 30 rounds

Appearances Edit

Strangely although described as long range accuracy, the SAF.40 has both lower accuracy and ranged statistics than the MPK another gun in its class, this may be due to the fact the MPK starts with only 20 rounds (upgradeable to 32 with the Extended Magazine attatchment) however it seems strange that this is the case since the MPK beats the SAF.40 in almost all other statistics.

SAF .40 can be purchased in Max Payne 3's Multiplayer for $2,500.
