Roscoe Bank, sometimes referenced as Roscoe Street Bank, is a bank located near the Roscoe Street Station.

Characteristics

The part of the bank that the public has access to, such as the front entrance and bank teller desks, are not seen during Max's visit to the bank; the vault door to this area of the bank remains sealed. The vault area is where the bank keeps the majority of its valuables, with Vaults A and C holding valuable documents (such as bonds) and most likely paper money. Vault B holds the bank's gold bars, and the vault itself is larger due to the size of the gold being stored there. The controls for the vault doors are in the central room where all three vaults can be opened as well as accessed, and it is also where the vault door to the front area of the bank is located.

Events

In 2001, while looking for Alex Balder in the Roscoe Street Station, and later in a nearby old, abandoned section of the station, Max Payne finds Roscoe Bank with a hole blasted in its wall. Criminals associated with the Mafia detonated the wall to access the bank vault from the abandoned subway as part of a complex bank heist operation, involving a large number of perpetrators.

Inside the bank, Payne shoots all the mobsters and picks up a ringing phone to speak to deputy chief Jim Bravura on the other end of the line. Bravura mistakes Payne for one of the bank robbers and demands him to give up.

Max Payne then steals a detonator left by the goons and uses it to blow up a welded shut door back in the subway, opening the door which leads to one of the tickets booths near the entrance of the current Roscoe subway station.
