The Payne residence is the family home of Max, Michelle and Rose Payne in 1998. It is located in the state of New Jersey.
On August 22nd, 1998, Michelle and Rose are murdered there by valkyr test subjects in order to stop Project Valhalla from coming to the attention of the District Attorney. Max is unable to prevent their deaths.
A distorted version of the family home is featured in Max's nightmares about his family's murder. It may be unlikely that Max still lived there in 2001. By 2003, Max lived in an apartment in New York city.
