- For this weapon as it appeared in Max Payne 2, see MP5.
- "This submachine gun was designed for close-quarters battle by special services. Besides it's short-range focus this is a good all-round weapon, much like the AK-47."
- ―Social Club description
The MPK is a submachine gun in Max Payne 3.
Overview[]
By 2012, this SMG was commonly used by both gangs and law enforcement in São Paulo and New Jersey, as well by Max Payne.
The MPK in Max Payne 3 fires 9x19mm Parabellum from 20 round box magazines, though this can be increased to 30 with all golden gun parts. It is a bit larger than other SMGs, though it deals more damage and handles similarly to a rifle. It also has decent accuracy and is an overall solid choice.

Behind the Scenes[]
- Unlike its real life counterpart, the magazine release paddle on the MPK is in front of the magwell. This can prove to be problematic as it can cause one to accidentally drop a mag.
- The HUD icon however, depicts the paddle release correctly located behind the magazine well.
- Another odd choice is the name, as the 'MPK' is more akin to a MP5/40 than an MP5K, unlike what the name implies.
- It may be possible that these traits were done deliberately to avoid potential issues with Heckler & Koch's patent on the MP5, which covers specific design elements of the weapon.
