The M79 Grenade Launcher is a weapon featured in Max Payne.
Description
The M79 grenade launcher is an explosive projecting weapon that causes a lot of damage in a wide radius.
In many ways, it can be considered the most powerful weapon in Max Payne (in terms of damage per shot); however, this is countered by its frequent need to reload and the danger of using it at close range.
It is first encountered when inside the Punchinello Manor, off a mobster who attempts to kill Max through a damaged door. In Part Three, several of Nicole Horne's goons can be found wielding these early on inside the Aesir Corporation building.
The M79 is the only weapon in Max Payne that does not have a weapon equivalent in Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne.
Behind the scenes
In Max Payne, the player can use only one type of grenades; in real-life, the M79 can use various grenades.
