Canonical error

When Rockstar released a promotional Max Payne 3 video clip about the M1911, in the video, it stated that Max Payne used the gun since the early days of his police career. Not long after the debut of the video, fans wrote comments to Rockstar, saying that the developers must have confused the weapon with the Beretta, Max's signature pistol since Max Payne. Rockstar noticed the mistake, issued an update acknowledging it and uploaded a new video replacing the old one, which now did not feature the erroneous info.
