Description
The M1911 is a basic handgun and deals a moderate amount of damage. The M1911 can be dual-wielded. A suppressor can also be attached to it.
Usage
Around 2012, Max Payne begins to use the pistol and even fires it to kill the son of Anthony DeMarco.
Behind the scenes
When Rockstar released a promotional Max Payne 3 video clip about the M1911, in the video, it stated that Max Payne used the gun since the early days of his police career. Not long after the debut of the video, fans wrote comments to Rockstar, saying that the developers must have confused the weapon with the Beretta, Max's signature pistol since Max Payne. Rockstar noticed the mistake, issued an update acknowledging it and uploaded a new video replacing the old one, which now did not feature the erroneous info. Another note is the weapon featured in the game is the original model of the 1911 (manufactured from 1911 to 1924) which is far outdated due to the presence of more modern derivatives of the pistol.
