The Hotel Palácio Imperia (Portugese for Imperial Palace Hotel), is a rundown luxurious hotel turned into the HQ for the Crachá Preto.
Description[]
Hotel Palácio Imperia was a luxurious hotel before it was rundown for some reason. Eventually, the Cracha Preto set up base in this hotel. This is where the organs scandal is set, as well as a shootout.
This hotel is the primary setting for the chapter The Great American Savior of the Poor.
Biography[]
Wilson Da Silva took notice of some suspicious activity happening around the hotel and after briefing Max Payne, sends the latter in to investigate. He does so and enters through an open basement window. He notices the Cracha Preto residents and fights his way through the hotel, finding some clues towards a very dark secret of the hotel. Eventually, he finds a room full of brutalized people from the Nova Esperança favela, including his former nemesis, Serrano, who were all captured in the favela raid. He makes everyone leave and eventually finds the operating room, where it turns out surgeon Arthur Fischer helps the Cracha Preto steal and sell people's organs for money. In retaliation, Max allows Serrano, who followed him, to kill Fischer. Max then decides to find some C-4 and blow the place up to be rid of its evil. After setting the charges, he confronts Álvaro Neves on the rooftop, where he presses the detonator and blows the lower floors of the hotel. He fights his way to an exit, but it is blown up, trapping Max. After falling due to the rapidly approaching collapse, Neves almost executes Max, but is suddenly shot in the head and Max was saved at the last minute by Raul Passos, who came back for him after abandoning him in It's Drive Or Shoot, Sister. Despite some unpleasantries, they took Neves' helicopter and took off at the last minute before the hotel finally collapses, destroying the evil and the history of it and disbanding the Cracha Preto.
