Fabiana was born on April 24, 1985 in Lisbon, Portugal, to a Portuguese mother and a Brazilian father. Her maiden name is Taveres. Fabiana has one sister, Giovanna. Her father, Orlando Taveres, is a dentist; her mother, Beatriz Taveres, a teacher.
In 1995, at the age of 10, Fabiana moved along with her family to Brazil. She grew up in São Carlos, about 230 km from São Paulo. In 2004, at the age of 19, Fabiana moved to São Paulo. Life as a Branco[edit | edit source]
- "She'd married well and was now at leisure to regret her good fortune. They got along as well as any rich workaholic and his younger airhead wife tend to get along. They mostly ignored each other. She spent a lot of time with his cokehead younger brother, Marcelo."
- ―Max Payne on Rodrigo and Fabiana's relationship
Sometime in 2008, Fabiana met Rodrigo Branco at a charity dinner, and the two married in March 2009, in a 300-guest wedding in Ilhabela. Despite being married to Rodrigo, the two were not close, and Fabiana developed a close relationship with Rodrigo's younger brother, Marcelo, and the two became regular faces in the São Paulo party circuit.
In 2012, Rodrigo hires Max Payne, a former NYPD detective, as a bodyguard to the family.
Kidnapping[edit | edit source]
During a fundraising event, the Comando Sombra break in and attempt to kidnap Fabiana and her husband, but are stopped by Max and the police. Although shaken, Fabiana, Marcelo, and Giovanna head to a nightclub downtown sometime later. As they enjoy the nightclub, Serrano and his men kidnap her and escape. With the Comando Sombra holding her for ransom, Max and Raul make attempts to rescue her, but fail on both occasions, much to their frustration.
Death[edit | edit source]
Shortly after her husband's untimely death, Max learns of Fabiana's whereabouts, located in the local favela; the Comando Sombra's territory. Around this time. Marcelo, having lost faith in Max for failing to protect his brother and Fabiana, takes matters into his own hands and, with Giovanna, brings money to pay for the ransom. However, negotiations fail and further escalates when Max interrupts. Angered, Serrano shoots Fabiana in the head, shocking Max and the others.
