- "This scoped rifle is not quite as damaging nor has the range and accuracy of the M82A1 sniper rifle. But it does have a faster fire rate and holds more ammo per magazine. This is an assault rifle with a scope and not a sniper rifle, so use it accordingly."

The FMP G3S is a sniper rifle in Max Payne 3.
Overview[]
The FMP G3S is an accurized variant of the German Heckler and Koch G3 battle rifle, manufactured under license by the Portuguese state small arms factory Fábrica de Braço de Prata.
Compared to other sniper rifles, it trades raw power and accuracy for a much faster rate of fire, allowing for more room for error in making shots while still doing enough damage to seriously injure with bodyshots or instantly kill with a headshot, making it a good choice for beginners and for mid-range combat.
In single player, this gun is found only in checkpoint 16 of Chapter 13, where it is wielded by a pair of UFE snipers in the training course. Acquiring the weapon is tricky and somewhat random, the most reliable way being to stagger the sniper atop the shipping container with torso shots until he dies next to the chainlink fence behind him, where his weapon will hopefully have dropped by close enough to be picked up. Interestingly, it's the only scoped rifle in the game to have a laser attached to it.
It's also the only usable weapon that is not needed for the A Few Hundred Bullets Back achievement/trophy, so obtaining it is not necessary for full completion.
