"Come say hi to Cheryl."
Jack Payne to his son, after Helen's funeral in 1976

Cheryl was the mistress of Jack Payne, circa the late 1970s.

At some point prior to 1976, Cheryl began a relationship with Jack Payne, who was then still married to his wife, Helen.

Their affair was thought by Jack's child, Max, to be one of the reasons why Helen, his mother, died.

The night after Helen's funeral, Cheryl and Jack sit in the kitchen, drinking. Max, angry at his father's betrayal and treatment of his mother, then enters the kitchen and raises a revolver replica to Jack and Cheryl, intimidating them.

Cheryl's fate after Jack's early death in 1979 is unknown.
