―Boris Dime

Boris Dime (Russian: Бори́с Дайм) (died 2001) is a Russian mobster and arms dealer who was once a member of the Russian Mob, and an associate of Vladimir Lem. At some time prior to 2001, Dime betrayed Vladimir and joined forces with the Italian Don, Angelo Punchinello.

As of 2001, Dime was the captain of a cargo ship called Charon, which he used to transfer weapons. In 2001, Dime was killed by the former NYPD detective Max Payne, under the orders of Vladimir.

Biography[]

Background[]

Boris Dime was once a loyal member of the Russian mob. He has then betrayed Vladimir Lem and the Russians, and crossed over to the Punchinello Crime Family.

Death[]

By 2001, Boris Dime is the captain of the cargo ship Charon, that holds up various weapons.

Vlad then makes a deal with Max Payne. He will give weapons to Max, only if he will find and kill Boris Dime - Max accepts the deal.

Max enters the cargo ship, kills a dozen of mobsters, and finally comes into Dime's room. Angelo Punchinello phones Dime, but hears Max instead, who taunts the Italian mob boss.

Max then kills some more mobsters until he finds Dime, armed with his powerful shotgun. Dime attacks Max, but is killed by his assailant.

Equipment and Tactics[]

Dime wields a Pump-Action Shotgun and also carries a Molotov Cocktail. He has a very large amount of health, requiring about 70 rounds of Beretta 9mm pistol fire to kill. Boris is confronted by Max in the engine room of the Charon, where he is accompanied by three members of his crew armed with shotguns and Ingrams. Dime himself will retreat to the rear of the engine room, where he fires at Max with his shotgun, throwing his Molotov cocktail if Max enters the engine room and takes cover where Dime cannot shoot him. Behind the area where Dime positions himself are a bundle of explosive fuel cannisters. Shooting these cannisters will damage Dime and cause him to aggressively charge at and chase Max.

Appearances[]

Trivia[]

  • In the graphic novel, Dime is shown holding an AK-47 which is incorrect not only because he actually holds a shotgun, but also because the weapon is not even present in the game.
  • Peter Appel also voiced Jim Bravura.
